Acquaintance with the model district
Only 4 people work at the foundry of JSC “Poltava Turbomechanical Plant” on the model site. Professionals in their field, who start work on creating new castings, and later on parts.
Today we will introduce you to the modelers:
Dvoryadkin Anatolii Vitaliyovych – joined the company immediately after graduating from school, has been working for more than 30 years. He devoted all his work to the production of models.
Vitaliy Mykolayovych Chipelskoy – graduated from the carpentry school, came to the company for practice and after a year asked to work. Vitaly is well versed in drawings, so this contributed to his desire and ability for this profession.
The most interesting thing is that only a turner does not have an education as a model maker, but in order to become a true master of his craft, one must not only be able to work with wood, but also be able to read drawings well, have imagination and visualization, because one must imagine the future model that we get at the end.
Previously, when there was no 3D visualization, the guys, upon receiving the drawings, would model the future part from plasticine, and only then start work. Now everything is easier and faster. In 2010, an Italian-made “Greda” machine appeared in production, which simplified the work of the first stage of model production.

What processes take place to obtain models:
- assemble the model;
- putty;
- clean and apply the first layer of paint;
- check for defects, if you need to rub;
- apply a second layer of paint and send to the foundry, for future casting and eventually parts.
It takes from 2 days to 2 weeks to complete one model. It all depends on the complexity and dimensions of the future part.
But the most difficult thing, as the guys say, is to make a perfect model that is unique and unique in its execution. Every time you have to do something new, and this requires perseverance, attention and precision in execution. And a great love for working with wood!
The company produces models of various castings – from the simplest semi-couplings to complex body parts, guide devices and working wheels. The use of modern materials and advanced technologies of foundry lines of HTS ensures high quality of foundry blanks and accuracy of geometric shapes.
It is the experience and skill of modelers that guarantee the quality and accuracy of future parts of the Nicmas “Concern”.
